The challenge

PGx Care needed to reach people before a clinical conversation begins, while supporting the software work behind care delivery. Community education and event promotion had to stay approachable; telehealth and electronic health record integration brought a different set of privacy and operational requirements.

Our approach

Our work with PGx Care spans both care delivery and community outreach. We approach these as distinct experiences: people browsing an event or learning about pharmacogenomics should not have to navigate a clinical application, and patient information should not flow through public marketing tools.

Telehealth and video streaming support different kinds of conversations. The clinical work focuses on patient and provider interactions; the public experience uses embedded promotional video to introduce community events. On event pages, one player moves from the hero into a dismissible floating view as visitors scroll, keeping the event information accessible without interrupting playback.

Electronic health record (EHR) integration is part of the broader care-delivery scope. That work centers on how information moves between the software and participating clinical systems. Our HIPAA-focused development approach treats privacy, access, and patient-data handling as engineering requirements from the start.

For event coordination and marketing, we built reusable campaign pages around the details organizers need to communicate: dates, venues, speakers, educational content, and local provider connections. Calendar links, video, and opt-in updates help people move from discovering an event to planning their participation.

Behind the build

  • Telehealth software work supporting patient and provider consultation experiences, distinct from the public education website.
  • Video streaming and a single-player event experience with inline playback, floating controls, and a clear way to dismiss the player.
  • EHR integration work scoped to the participating clinical systems and their patient-information requirements.
  • HIPAA-focused development that keeps clinical data handling separate from public event and marketing experiences.
  • Database-backed event campaigns with structured schedules, venues, speakers, and content, plus a separate opt-in newsletter audience.

The outcome

PGx Care has a public destination for health education, community events, and provider connections, alongside our broader work on telehealth and EHR integration. The project brings together healthcare software development, video experiences, and event marketing without treating public outreach as a patient-record system.
